# Schedule and publish videos to many TikTok accounts

One video to every TikTok account you manage, through TikTok's official Content Posting API. Until TikTok approves our app, posts go up as private, and we say so plainly.

## What connects on TikTok

You connect a TikTok account on TikTok's permission screen: pick the account and allow video uploads. Shager receives a limited, encrypted access token and never sees a password.

For each post you choose, as TikTok requires, who can see it (from the account's own privacy options), which interactions to allow (comments, Duet, Stitch) and whether it is commercial content. There are no defaults, because TikTok's guidelines forbid them.

Each TikTok account is one account on your plan, and a client can connect theirs through a connect link.

## Formats and limits, as the code checks them

- **Privacy:** Chosen per post; branded content can't be private

- **Interactions:** Comments, Duet and Stitch chosen per post

Shager checks these rules in the composer before scheduling, and again before publishing. Anything that doesn't fit shows up right away, not after the network rejects it.

## Where the link goes, and how clicks are counted

On TikTok a link in the caption isn't clickable, and the official API has no first comment. So the lead link doesn't go in the post itself. What does work: Shager creates a short link with a tracking tag per account that you can put in the bio, and clicks from it are split by account in the report.

## Where TikTok stands today

**Live, pending network review.** Pending TikTok's app review: until approved, posts can only go to private accounts and are published as private ("only me"). Privacy, interactions and commercial-content disclosure are chosen per post.

### Why do posts go up as private?

Because TikTok hasn't finished reviewing Shager's app. Until approval, TikTok's API only allows posting to private accounts, and posts are published as "only me". After approval, public posting will work through the same flow with nothing to change.

### When will TikTok approve?

We don't have a date. Meanwhile you can connect accounts, schedule and test the flow. The networks page shows the current status, read from the code itself.

### Can I post photos to TikTok?

Not at the moment. Shager publishes videos only to TikTok.

### Why must I choose privacy and commercial content on every post?

It is a TikTok requirement for every app that publishes through its API: the choice must be the person's, on every post, with no default. Shager's composer shows these fields and won't schedule without them.

### Can I put a link in the post?

No. On TikTok links in captions aren't clickable, and the official API doesn't allow a first comment. Your link with its tracking tag lives in the bio, and Shager counts clicks from it per account.
