What connects on LinkedIn
You connect LinkedIn personal profiles. Each person approves their own profile on LinkedIn's permission screen, themselves, which makes it a convenient way for employees, partners or agents to share company content from their personal profile: send them a connect link and they approve.
LinkedIn limits the permission to 60 days. When it expires the account is marked "needs reconnect", and reconnecting is one click on LinkedIn's screen.
Company Pages are pending LinkedIn's Community Management API approval. Until then a Company Page can't be connected, and we don't present it as available.

Shager checks these rules in the composer before scheduling, and again before publishing. Anything that doesn't fit shows up right away, not after the network rejects it.
03Leads
Where the link goes, and how clicks are counted
On LinkedIn a link in the text is clickable, so the tracked link goes in the body of the post. A first comment isn't available through LinkedIn's basic permission, and we won't present it as available until it is.
Each profile gets its own short link and UTM tag. When five people on a team share the same post, the report shows which of them brought the clicks.

Can I publish to a LinkedIn Company Page?
Not yet. Publishing to Company Pages needs LinkedIn's approval for the Community Management API, and we are waiting for it. Once approved, Company Pages will connect through the same flow. The status on the networks page is read from the code.
Why reconnect every 60 days?
It is LinkedIn's limit on permission lifetime, for every app. When it expires the account is marked for reconnecting, which takes one click on LinkedIn's screen.
Is there a first comment on LinkedIn?
No. The permission LinkedIn grants for publishing doesn't include comments. The link goes in the post text, where it is clickable.
How do I work with a team posting from personal profiles?
Open a space, send each person a connect link, and they approve their own profile. From then on every post approved in the space goes out from all the profiles, and you can adjust wording per person.
Can I attach a PDF or a slide deck?
Not yet. Documents on LinkedIn aren't supported for now; images (up to 20) and video are.
